A Night In White

July 7, 2011

The sea of white took over the bar as everyone gathered on Thursday, June 9th at Tabaq Bistro for a Starlight MidAtlantic event hosted by the Young Professionals Council. Everyone wore their brightest white to help raise money for Starlight children and families. The evening was spent dancing, laughing and bidding on auction prizes, while simultaneously supporting a tremendous foundation.

“It was great to see the YPC, Starlight team members and members of the community come together for a great cause,” said intern Caitlin Rush from Penn State University.

The signature drinks were a huge hit at the event as everyone sipped on Startini’s, Dark and Starry’s and Stargaritas, while keeping an eye on the popular auction items. Everyone was extremely energetic in the room because when they paid for drinks a part of the proceeds would help Starlight MidAtlantic further its mission to helping children cope with their pain and fear through entertainment. People were enjoying music from El Exclusivo DJ Jeffrey and also indulging in the cupcakes given by the infamous Georgetown Cupcakes.

When the silent auction was coming to a close, many people were making sure their bid was the highest on auction items such as: wine classes at the Washington Wine Academy, a stay at The W Hotel for a night, dance classes at Pole Pressure and a game worn DC United jersey.

After having a phenomenal evening I could feel the endless amount of commitment and passion that everyone has for Starlight MidAtlantic. It was incredible to see so many different members of the community come together for a special evening. It made me realize that Starlight MidAtlantic is such a strong organization! It is events like this and the people who plan and attend them that make Starlight MidAtlantic so successful and well respected. The White Party had a great outcome and was enjoyed by everyone who attended. The night in white was a fantastic start to the summer for Starlight MidAtlantic!
