Annie Live in Richmond

May 3, 2009
Our Richmond Starlight families went to see a Theatre IV production of Annie. It was a great performance with fabulous acting and singing. The show was enjoyed by those of us who grew up loving Annie (like our D.C./Maryland Coordinator, Katie who came down to see the show with us and shared memories of her childhood Annie doll) and those who had never heard the story of orphan Annie and Oliver Warbucks. One of the best parts in the show was played by a very well behaved and cute dog, filling the role of Sandy the stray mutt that Annie falls in love with. Annie was both politically and historically relevant, something those who saw the movie as kids had for the most forgotten. Best of all, it was uplifting to see Annie get adopted and find truth in her song The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow.
